The 1989 thriller "Sea of Love," starring Al Pacino, Ellen Barkin, John Goodman and Michael Rooker and written by novelist/screenwriter Richard Price, sparked Pacino's renaissance as an actor after having very few significant roles in the 1980s. It was not only a big hit, but it became known for the steamy scenes between Pacino and Barker and for its genuinely scary mystery.
